Get ready to build your very own hovercraft! We'll show you how to use balloons, caps, hot glue, straws, and other found materials to create a fun, floating contraption. Test your hovercraft on different surfaces—will it hover on the carpet? How about on the table?

• Includes All Materials: We provide everything you need to make your hovercraft and decorate it.


• Who Can Join: Open to everyone—adults and kids alike! Kids under 5 may need a little help from an adult.


• Registration: No need to register in advance—just stop by during activity hours! Though, registering makes it easier to add the event to your calendar.


• Payment: You can pay at the register or in the CL with exact cash or Venmo.

Getting Here & What to Expect:
All events take place inside the Craft Lab at Because Science, our retail shop located at 1759 Columbia Rd NW, Washington, DC (across from the Line Hotel in Adams Morgan).

 Look for the squiggly rainbow mural! Enter Because Science and walk to the back of the store (between the biology and anatomy sections) to find the entrance to the Craft Lab
 Metro: We're a 10-minute walk from the Woodley Park (red line) or Columbia Heights (green line) Metro stations.
 Bus: The 42, 43, and 90/92 buses stop nearby.
 Parking: Street parking is mostly limited to 30 minutes—walking, biking, or ride share is recommended. There is a parking garage located at 2421 18th St NW, about a block away.
